Uber is partnering with Hertz again, this time to give thousands of European drivers the opportunity to drive electric cars. The agreement marks another step in Uber’s commitment to promoting green initiatives and reducing carbon emissions.

Hertz and Uber recently announced that they will provide up to 25,000 electric vehicles (EVs) for Uber drivers residing in European capitals by 2025. This announcement follows their partnership in North America, where 50,000 Tesla cars are available for rent in the U.S. The two companies are committed to advancing sustainable mobility solutions globally.
Uber is now giving drivers the chance to drive with more choice, offering a range of EVs from Tesla and Polestar in Europe. Starting this month, Hertz’s London base will launch the program, which will then expand to other cities including Paris, Amsterdam and additional capitals across the region.

The Uber-Hertz partnership has two main goals: to help Hertz achieve its ambition to create one of the largest electric vehicle fleets in the world, and to help Uber realize its ambition to become a “zero-emissions platform” by 2030.
Uber’s Rent-a-Tesla program has been a huge success since its launch. To date, more than 50,000 drivers in the US have taken advantage of this opportunity to rent a Tesla and have completed over 24 million all-electric trips totaling 260 million electric kilometers!
To achieve its goal of zero-emissions travel by the end of this decade, Uber’s plan for success doesn’t just stop with its partnership with Hertz. With more than 1,400 cities across North America already using “Uber Green” – a program that encourages drivers to use hybrid and all- electric cars – they’ve also rolled it out to their beloved membership service, known as “Uber Pass.” This way, members will be able to get a 10% discount on every green trip!

Uber has formed partnerships with automakers, charging network providers and other electric vehicle rental companies, such as Ample, Avis and EVgo, to provide additional incentives to its customers.
