Yesterday, August 3, as we had informed you, the trial of Alexander Vinnik – Mr. Bitcoin as he is usually referred to – was to take place at the Paris Court of Appeal and it seems that the trial took place and today the decision will be announced. Of course, what Mr. Alexander Vinnik’s lawyer Zoe Konstantopoulou is denouncing as having been taking place since yesterday at the Paris Court of Appeal and continues to happen is truly shocking.

Ms. Zoe Konstantopoulou states the following on her personal social media page: “What is happening in the Alexander Vinnik case is unthinkable. The Paris Court of Appeal is currently meeting without my presence. They asked me to leave the courtroom as Alexander Vinnik’s defense attorney and when I refused, three police officers attempted to arrest me, something I resisted and ultimately did not happen. The result was that the court was moved to another room and is currently meeting, prohibiting me from entering. This is an extreme violation of the rights of Alexander Vinnik, a man who is being illegally detained and is the target of three governments. I would be truly ashamed in the position of the Greek government, Mr. Mitsotakis, Mr. Tsiaras and the French government.”

Following her complaints yesterday, today she published the following post saying that they did not transfer Alexander from prison for the verdict.

We should also mention that Vinnik's lawyer a few days ago sent letters to the Minister of Justice, Mr. Konstantinos Tsiaras, and to the Prosecutor of Appeals of Thessaloniki, Mr. Angelos Kamilaris, fearing the possible and planned airlift of Alexander Vinnik to Greece and from there to the USA. The lawyer calls on the Minister of Justice to assume his responsibility and not to cooperate in the continuation of the criminal actions against Alexander and his children.
