Eve Systems today released a firmware update that will bring Matter to Eve Energy, Door and Window, and Motion devices.
Eve Systems, a technology company specializing in home automation, has announced the release of a Matter for select products. This new update will bring compatibility between the product and Matter, allowing users to connect their devices with HomeKit, Samsung SmartThings, Amazon Alexa , and Google Home.

The Matter update is available on iOS and iPadOS 16.2 , which is available via beta. To take advantage of this new feature, users must own one of Apple 's Home Hubs , such as the HomePod mini or the second/third generation Apple TV 4K . You also need to be a member of the Early Access program . The process can take a while, but once it's complete, you'll receive an email with access to a trial of the Matter update. Eve customers enrolled in the Beta program can apply as early as December 12, while other users will have to wait until December 13 to be able to sign up.
Eve announced that these are the first Matter -compatible products to hit the market. Eve devices that are updated to include Matter will continue to work seamlessly with HomeKit – with no difference in the user experience within the Home app. However, it’s worth noting that any device that has been updated with Matter can no longer be reverted to HomeKit standards.

With Matter support , your device will be compatible with HomeKit, Samsung SmartThings, Amazon Alexa , and Google Home . Keep in mind, however, that Amazon and Google have yet to fully roll out their support. Eve Door and Window, Eve Energy, and Eve Motion can be purchased either from the official website or through Amazon.com!
