There's been a lot of talk about Apple's new Macs possibly debuting in early 2023, and now another clue has surfaced: two mysterious and unreleased MacBooks have appeared as listings in Steam's gaming database.
The database tracks computers and software used to access Steam games, and an observant user (via MacRumors) noticed that among all the regular listings, there are references to a 'Mac14.6' and a 'Mac15.4'.

That's all the information we have about these computers at the moment, but there have already been many rumors about new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros. These computers will feature M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, which will make their appearance in late 2022 or early 2023 at the latest.
In the testing process
Both MacBook models identified in the Steam database appear at 0% utilization, but that doesn't tell us anything. It helps us understand that these computers are not yet released to the public, but are rather Apple's test models. If you feel like you've heard this name "Mac 14.6" before, you're absolutely right: benchmarks of this computer leaked a few days ago, showing the potential performance increase that the M2 chip series will bring.
Of course, we already know how impressive the M2 version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro is, so we're excited to see the 14-inch and 16-inch models come to the same level. Based on Steam's database, we won't have to wait much longer.

What to expect from Macs in 2023
The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros aren't the only new things we're expecting. The M2 chip is expected to make its way into updated versions of the Mac Studio, Pro, and possibly the Mini before we see the end of 2023. At the same time, we're expecting upgraded versions of the Apple M2 chip that has already appeared in the 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. As with the M1 before it, Apple is expected to unveil more powerful silicon versions as time goes on.
Indeed, almost every Mac that wasn't updated in 2022 could now be released as a new version with upgraded processor and memory. We'll keep you posted on all official announcements and rumors that arise.
