The release date of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 was announced along with many new details about what to expect.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is set to release on November 16th , about two weeks after Modern Warfare 2 launches on October 28th . Both will feature the same engine, something original to the Call of Duty franchise , which should ensure parity and a more consistent feature set – all of which makes this feel like a fresh start for the series. Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 introduces the new desert map of Al Mazrah , as well as some of its own tweaks to the battle royale formula , such as multiple circles appearing in certain end-game scenarios. It will also feature a new AI faction , with Strong Holds hosting loot that is patrolled by NPCs, and a custom Gulag system . There will also be a new sandbox mode called DMZ , and while details remain scarce, it does sound like it's Warzone's version of Escape from Tarkov .

Like other popular battle royale titles, it will also feature a third-person view – something completely new for Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and an addition that will likely be the subject of much discussion. Third-person playlists will also be available in Modern Warfare 2, reprising the third-person mode that was available in the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2009.
The confirmation of a third-person mode comes after we previously learned that the console versions would finally get FOV options. We also had more information about how Gunsmith 2.0, with a refined interface and more customization options.
All of this comes as Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 kicks off its open beta this weekend, and more details have been revealed about what to expect. The Ground War mode will feature large-scale, 32v32 battles on the Sariff Bay map . There will also be smaller, 6v6 matches , played across the trio of Valderas Museum , Farm 18 , and Mercado Las Almas .

And finally, we heard about Call of Duty Warzone: Mobile, a new venture that shares some features with its console counterpart and promises cross-progression and shared social features. It's being developed by a number of studios, including Beenox and Digital Legends, and is expected to launch on iOS and Android next year.
