Just 10 days after announcing its entry into the Japanese market, Build Your Dreams (BYD) has outlined its next plans to sell electric passenger vehicles in Germany and Sweden. As part of a new partnership with European dealer group Hedin Mobility, BYD expects to start delivering electric vehicles to the new EU countries before the end of the year.

BYD Auto is an automotive subsidiary of BYD Co. Ltd. which currently operates as one of the largest car manufacturers in China. In 2021 alone, BYD produced over 320,000 BEVs, second in the country after SAIC. The company recently reported sales of over 641,000 cars in the first half of 2022 alone.
BYD Auto has been delivering electric vehicles since 2008, when it launched a plug-in hybrid version of the F3 sedan. Since then, BYD has seen great success with PHEVs in addition to fully electric passenger, not to mention BYD fleet EVs, including trucks and buses.

These commercial vehicles in particular have already seen success outside of China, specifically buses in North America and Europe. As for its passenger electric vehicles, BYD already launched its Tang EV in Norway in 2020, but it looks like it will soon expand its global reach .
Earlier this month, the Chinese automaker announced plans to enter the Japanese market. This launch will include the start of sales of the Atto-3 this January, followed by the BYD Seal and Dolphin in mid-2023.

Now, BYD has announced an additional expansion to sell more passenger electric vehicles in Europe.
