PayPal has reportedly laid off more employees , shortly after announcing the permanent layoff of about 80 employees at its San Jose headquarters. More layoffs are expected to follow in the coming months. The reports claim that the company has reduced its headcount in the following locations: Chicago, Omaha, Nebraska, and Arizona.

PayPal had planned to strategically reduce its workforce in 2020, but these recent layoffs appear to be related to the company's recent slowdown in growth. The lack of availability of some products due to the global supply chain crisis may have contributed to this. PayPal reportedly told Bloomberg about the layoffs: “The company is continually evaluating how we work to ensure we are prepared to meet customers and operate with the best structure and processes to support our strategic business priorities as we continue to evolve.”
As for the layoffs, PayPal has already spent millions of dollars on severance pay and other costs related to the job. As more layoffs follow, the payment processing company will spend more money. However, according to PayPal's estimates of the long-term benefits, this restructuring will result in savings of $260 million annually.

PayPal is just one of many tech that have been laying off workers in recent weeks. Many companies have resorted to layoffs as their revenue has not grown as fast as they had predicted.
