Anker USB-C Docking Station: Triple Display Support on M1 Mac

Anker USB-C Docking Station for M1 Mac: For years, Apple's M1-based Mac computers have only been able to support one display. But there are ways to get around this limitation. That's why Anker is launching a 10-in-1 USB-C docking station that offers support for more than one display.

The Anker 563 USB-C docking station contains two HDMI ports and a Display Port and utilizes multi-streaming to carry multiple video signals over a single connection.

Given that this hub only works via a USB type C , there are bandwidth limitations which limit the quality of the displays you can connect.

So if you want to add a single 4K display you can do so from one of the HDMI ports but the display will only run at 30 HZ. Now if you want to connect a second Display Port display its resolution will be limited to 2K each at 50Hz to 60Hz depending on the configuration of course. So while this base can be a solid and easy solution for productivity setups at not necessarily high resolutions, users should be aware of its limitations.

Beyond display support, the Anker563 dock includes a slew of other ports, including a USB-C Power Delivery port that delivers up to 100 watts to the host computer and 5 Gbps downstream USB ports: one USB-C up to 30 watts and one USB-A up to 7.5 watts. Two additional USB-A 2.0 ports are good for peripherals like keyboards and mice, while a Gigabit Ethernet port and an AUX input/output port complete the setup.

The Anker 563 measures just under 7 inches long, about 3 inches thick, and is powered by a 180-watt external power box. It's listed at $249.99 and is available now from Anker and Amazon.

In a new announcement from Anker, many of the company's recently announced products have been made available to the public and are now available for shipping, including the massive 757 Portable Power Station ($1399 at Anker and Amazon ) and the Nebula Cosmos Laser 4K Projector ($2199 at Nebula and Amazon).

The highly anticipated Anker 736 100 Watt GaN charger in black, which sold out in just a few hours after its launch a month ago, is now available in white for $79.99 on Amazon.
