Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the company is moving its headquarters from Silicon Valley to Austin, Texas, where it has been building a factory for more than a year.

However, Musk said Tesla factory electric vehicle in Fremont, California , and will increase production there by 50%. Musk stressed that moving the headquarters to Texas does not mean Tesla is leaving California.
On the other hand, the company's headquarters is moving from the state where its vehicles are most popular to a state where it cannot legally sell its cars directly to consumers.

Elon Musk had previously said that he intended to withdraw Tesla's entire operations from California because he strongly disagreed with the orders the state had issued to make people feel safe at the beginning of the pandemic.
Elon Musk himself moved to Texas last year , as SpaceX dramatically increased its presence in the southern tip of the state.
Additionally, as we mentioned above, Tesla has long been building its next US Gigafactory outside Austin, Texas, and in just a year, it has made incredible progress. “We’re going to create an ecological paradise here,” the company’s CEO has said.

Elon Musk has previously said that Tesla chose to build the factory in Austin, Texas, because workers were more willing to move there. Musk explained that the Bay Area has some limitations. “It’s hard for people to buy houses in California,” he said. Plus, Tesla’s Austin facility is close to the local airport, which is convenient.
