It seems that the VW automaker has prepared another series of electric vehicles, which it presented before its official launch, giving an idea of what its new cars include.

According to Autoblog, the popular automaker has revealed the ID.6 electric SUV ahead of its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 21. The seven-seat EV will be larger than the ID.4 and will be available in two variants: the ID. 6 X and the ID.6 Crozz. However, the images suggest that it won't be as flashy as the 2019 Roomzz concept. VW appears to have removed the sliding doors and replaced them with conventional ones.

Based on the specifications revealed by MIIT, the new VW ID.6 has a single electric motor rated at 201 horsepower, essentially copying the ID.4 and ID.3 before it. Being considerably larger than the other models, the SUV stretches to 4.8 meters, with a long wheelbase measuring 2.9 meters. The MIIT document also revealed an 82 kWh lithium-ion battery, and we also expect a dual-motor variant with all-wheel drive and just over 300 horsepower.

The company has made it clear that the ID.6 X and Crozz are intended for the Chinese market. However, consumers from other countries who want these new larger models should not be disappointed. As VW previously told Automotive News, it is possible that an ID.6 model will also arrive in the US. That would not be a surprise. The American car market loves SUVs, and the ID.4 can only satisfy the preferences for a compact crossover. More spacious vehicles like the ID.6 could reach many more buyers.
