There is no doubt that Google Maps is an amazing application, but it is not perfect. Every now and then you discover a place that does not exist on Google Maps. You can improve the service by adding it yourself.

Anyone can add a place to Google Maps, but that doesn't mean your edit will be accepted. Google verifies the addition, as you may have reported something wrong. It's very common for map additions to be rejected. See below for exactly what you need to do.

Add a missing place on iPhone, iPad or Android
First, open the Google Maps app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device and go to the “Contribute” tab.

Next, press the “Add Place” button at the top of the screen.

Now you need to fill in the information for the missing place. You must fill in all fields marked with an asterisk.

For the location box, click the map if you want to move a pin instead of typing the address.

When you finish, select the arrow icon in the top right corner.

Your contribution will be sent to Google and you will receive an email after it is reviewed.

Add a missing place from the desktop
You can also add a place using your Windows 10 computer, Mac, and Linux. Go to the Google Maps website in a browser like Google Chrome.

Click the menu icon in the search box.

Select “Add a Missing Place” from the side menu.

Here you will fill in the information for the missing place. You can click on the map if you want to move the pin to the location or enter the address manually.

Click the “Send” option when you have completed filling out the form.

A message will appear thanking you for your contribution to Google Maps. You will receive an email after the review of your edit. Click on “Done” to complete.

It is really that simple. The difficult part is getting your submission approved. Google is very careful about this and Google Maps is a very reliable application.
