Chris Krebs and Alex Stamos are coming to help Solarwinds after the recent hack that affected a large number of American companies and organizations.

Former CISAChris Krebs and former FacebookAlex Stamos created a new consulting team, which SolarWinds decided to tap after the December hack.
The company hired the two experts to help it through this difficult period.
Recently, Solarwinds’ network-management platform was the target of a massive supply-chain hack . The attack affected several “high-profile” companies and organizations, including the Department of Homeland Security U.S. (DHS) and the Departments of the Treasury and Commerce.
Chris Krebs is the former director of CISA, who was first appointed in 2018. In November, he was ousted by the Trump, which sparked backlash from both government officials and security experts.
Alex Stamos is the former CISO of Facebook and founder of the Stanford Internet Observatory. In the past year, Stamos has worked with other large companies that have faced security issues. For example, he worked with Zoom , which after the emergence of COVID-19 faced so-called Zoom-bombing attacks.
According to The Financial Times, the two experts have teamed up to launch a cybersecurity consulting business called the Krebs Stamos Group. The consulting group works with companies to help them understand various security, as well as their vulnerabilities, “and the role they play in the security of our wider society.”
“Our idea is simple: help businesses manage cyber risks as a business risk, making the Internet a safer place,” Krebs said on Twitter on Friday.
Other security experts also praised SolarWinds' decision to tap the duo. Researcher Kevin Beaumont said: " The need for security expertise is essential for SolarWinds as the company continues to grapple with the hack. Just last week, the Department of Justice (DoJ) announced that cybercriminals compromised the Office 365 email server as part of a massive intrusion ."

Stamos said on Twitter: "We are committed to helping understand and recover from one of the most serious foreign hacking campaigns in history and will help others learn from this attack."
SolarWinds CEO Sudhakar Ramakrishnastressed that the company is doing everything it can and is working with industry peers, security from other companies, and intelligence agencies worldwide to more effectively investigate the incident.
“We have hired several leading cybersecurity experts to help us on this journey, and I am committed to full transparency for customers , our government partners, and the broader public, both in the short and long term,” Ramakrishna said Thursday.
