The newspaper even claims that the company did not immediately notify customers about the breach. It is one of many companies that have been breached in recent months.

Foxtons has reportedly informed the Information Commissioner's Office and the National Cyber Crime Agency about the incident.

Foxtons, however, has not made any further comment on the matter.

The newspaper said: “Foxtons has been breached by a malware on a small part of the business. It appears that many other businesses and organisations have been affected and this is not a targeted attack on Foxtons.”

“We have effective systems and took swift action to contain the incident and minimise disruption to our customers. Ongoing investigations reveal that no sensitive data,” the company said.

According to the newspaper, some customers expressed anger at the company's failure to notify them of the breach and said Foxtons told them its systems were undergoing an upgrade.

One customer said: "I'm worried that my data has been stolen. It's outrageous that there was a breach and they just didn't report it."

The newspaper also revealed that in 2013 Foxtons was forced to investigate whether hackers had stolen details of around 10,000 sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants after an anonymous leak on a hacking website.
