The oldest YouTube gamer is a 90-year-old grandmother: According to Guinness World Records, Hamako Mori is officially the oldest YouTube gamer.
Thanks to her video game skills, she now has 250,000 subscribers on YouTube, and is known as "Gamer Grandma."
The YouTube gamer started playing video games 39 years ago, and in 2015 decided to start her own YouTube channel. Her videos range from testing popular games, unboxing new consoles, to broadcasting her skills, combined with a dose of humor. In fact, she has given one of her videos the title “Elder plays Elder Scrolls: V Skyrim”, referring to the famous fantasy game. There are also videos that will give you a taste of herself and her life, such as “90 – year – old grandma plays Dauntless”, with 3 million views, where Mori blows out her birthday candles and says:
"I'm going to play Dauntless today. When I started playing it, it was so much fun that I couldn't stop. I can't think of any other games, it's all about this. Sometimes I end up playing it until 2 in the morning."
The first game she owned was Cassette Vision, which was released in Japan on July 30, 1981. Over the years, the YouTube gamer has managed to build a large collection of consoles that she said she has kept because they bring back memories. It should be noted that while she has played many games, one of her favorites remains Grand Theft Auto. She said that “it’s like watching a movie” and that something she really likes is the age restriction that doesn’t allow children to play it.
"After living this long, I feel more than ever that playing games for so long was the right choice. I really enjoy my life, it's beautiful," says the YouTube gamer.
When asked why he started playing, he replied: “It seemed like so much fun, and I thought it wasn’t fair that only kids played it. So I started playing when no one was watching.”
