Installing Google Chrome on Kali Linux

Start:

To start the program, first open a terminal and type:

$ google-chrome --no-sandbox

Errors:

1. No SandBox: ERROR:zygote_host_impl_linux.cc(89)] Running as root without –no-sandbox is not supported.

The solution to avoid this problem is to simply run Google Chrome with the –no-sandbox extension, like the following:

# google-chrome –no-sandbox

2. Illegal Instruction: The message “illegal Instruction” appears when you run the google-chrome command as privileged root usera.

To fix the problem, you need to create another privileged user , e.g. linuxconfig. To create another user, type:

# useradd -m -d /home/linuxconfig linuxconfig

Then, restart Google Chrome, using the new linuxconfig user:

Installing Google Chrome on Kali Linux

# su linuxconfig -c google-chrome

3. The libappindicator1 package is not installed: dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of google-chrome-stable: google-chrome-stable depends on libappindicator1; however: Package libappindicator1 is not installed.

To avoid this problem, you need to use gdebi for installation, as we mentioned earlier.
