Hackers stole sensitive NederWoon customer information

Hackers A home rental company, NederWoon, has been the victim of a hacker attack. Hackers managed to break into the company and steal the personal data of thousands of customers.

The information stolen by the hackersincludes the following: name, home address, contact details, passport and ID. These details are very important and their use by hackers can cause great damage to the owners. Fraudsters could use the victims' identity details to open bank accounts or take out loans.

After discovering the breach, NederWoon notified all of its customers and advised them to be cautious. It is very likely that they will receive a phishing email.

There is still no information on the number of customers affected by the hacker attack.

Nederwoon is a fairly large company and has eight branches in the Netherlands. Two of them are in Amsterdam and Utrecht. It has around 25,000 properties for rent.

Nederwoon is not the only rental company to have been hacked. In March, another attack took place at Altijd Wonen, which resulted in the theft of personal information from 49,000 people. This means that in just a few months, there have been two major attacks on this type of business. Are rental companies the new target of hackers?
