iPhone users complain about flashlight accidentally activating

iPhone There's never any quiet in the world of Apple, especially right now when the company is going through some very difficult times due to lower-than-expected iPhone sales.

But customers always find the most unexpected problems with Apple products, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that some are now complaining about the flashlight accidentally activating on their iPhones.

A report from USA Today says that there are many iPhone users who claim that this feature is too easy to activate from the lock screen because Apple has placed a shortcut on the home screen. In other words, a feature that is supposed to be extremely useful turns into an annoyance because it is too easy to activate the flashlight.

Apple has not yet acknowledged the problem

The aforementioned report claims that many users walk down the street with the flashlight activated in their pocket, and only realize it when they are alerted by others that a light is shining behind their clothing.

It seems that almost 500 iPhone users have already reported the issue to Apple, but there has been no official statement from the company yet. And there probably never will be, as the tech giant doesn't typically talk about such issues, but quietly fixes them when they happen.

The problem appears to be mostly found on newer iPhones, starting with the iPhone X and continuing through the iPhone XS and iPhone XR. USA Today reports that the first reports of the issue were made last year, shortly after the iPhone X was released, but the number of complaints is significantly higher this year after the introduction of the new models.

For now, if you find yourself with the flashlight turned on in your pocket, there are several ways to turn it off, including clicking the flashlight icon on the lock screen or asking Siri to do so.
