A huge change may be coming to Android Q soon!

Google is preparing to reveal the designs of its latest Android series soon, and it is rumored that there will be a huge visual makeover in Android Q! The latest information was revealed by Android Police and it was noted that the changes that will be made in Android Q are related to the user interface of smartphones in the form of a system-wide Dark Mode UI. This was stated directly by Googler Lukasz Zbylut, through a post on the Chromium bug tracker. Furthermore, he revealed that the search engine giant plans to convert all UI elements of applications to a black theme. This change will come within the next four months, which will coincide with Google IO 2019.

Android Q

More specifically, dark-mode is an approved Q feature. The main goal of the Q team is to ensure that all preloaded apps support the aforementioned feature in order to successfully transition all UI elements at least by May 2019.

For its part, Google has already started the process with its own messaging app, which now has a dark mode feature. We can expect the same for other native apps pretty soon.

As for the Chromium post, the aforementioned Googler says that the Chrome team may bring Dark Mode as an alternative option within the browser. This also means that there will be changes to the omnibox, overflow menu, tab switcher, and more. He also said that a “master setting” for dark-mode could be added in Android Q, via Settings>Display>Dark Mode.

However, the biggest question is whether Android Q with the new change will be released at the same time as Google's IO 2019. Although Android Police had mentioned the changes in its publications since October 2018, it remains unknown whether it will be possible to support dark mode from all applications.
