Apple is removing all WhatsApp sticker apps from the App Storefor violating its guidelines.
Apple users will no longer be able to create their own custom WhatsApp stickers. The reason? Apple is removing all WhatsApp sticker apps from the App Store for violating its guidelines.
According to WaBetaInfo, Apple has given three main reasons for the removal. First, there are too many apps with similar content. Second, you need to install WhatsApp to use the apps in question, which goes against the company's App Store guidelines. According to Apple, an app shouldn't require the installation of another app to work. And finally, the design of all of these apps is the same.
WhatsApp has launched the Stickers feature for both Android and iOS users. The feature allows the user to add stickers to a conversation to make it more fun and interactive. WhatsApp has released 12 popular sticker packs which are Cuppy, Salty, Komo, Bibimbap Friends, Unchi & Rollie, Shiba Inu, The Maladroits, Koko, Hatch, Fearless and Fabulous, Banana, and Biscuit. To add more stickers to the list, users need to select the + symbol and go to “Get more stickers”. This will take them to the Play Store, where they will be able to see the list of supported sticker packs with some being free and some being paid. Users can add as well as delete the sticker packs they want.
In addition to the 12 sticker packs launched by WhatsApp, the chat app also supports third-party sticker apps, which allow developers to create custom sticker packs specifically for the platform.
Until now, this support was available for both iOS and Android users. However, this feature will now be removed for iOS users as Apple is removing all sticker apps from its App Store.
Sticker apps are downloaded when the phone is connected to the internet. Once downloaded, the user can start using stickers even when they are offline. Sticker apps have three main icons below them. The clock icon shows all the recently used stickers, the star icon shows stickers that have been marked as favorites, and finally the heart icon which is further divided into four categories. The first category shows all the happy stickers, the second has all the heart stickers, the third category contains all the sad stickers, and the last one with the exclamation mark contains all the other emotions that the stickers represent.
