Spotify finally launches its official Apple Watch app

Music streaming service Spotify has officially launched its official app for the Apple Watch . The company had tested a beta version of the app earlier this month. The launch was announced today on Spotify's official newsroom.spotify.com Watch

“We know the importance of being able to have music with us everywhere, which is why we’re excited to add a new Spotify app for Apple Watch users.”

The announcement also included details about the new app's features. The company says that with the new app, users will be able to enjoy an improved experience with better control and that they will be able to seamlessly connect to their speakers and other devices. The app will also be able to play podcasts along with music.

Features

In another version of the app, users could play or pause music or podcasts. With this new official app, users can do a lot more than that, including the ability to skip tracks or rewind a podcast by 15 seconds. The latter feature will come in handy in case you miss something and want to listen to it again. And the best part is, all of this can now be done from the Apple Watch screen.

“The new integration with Apple Watch makes it easy to access your recently listened to songs, even with your phone in your pocket.”

One of the reasons this app is expected to be a hit is because it will allow users to stream music from their watch without having to take their phones out of their pockets. An app developed specifically for one device always offers a better experience than using apps created for other devices. Apple Watch users will now be able to seamlessly do things like skip tracks, move through playlists, or change the volume. Additionally, they can control which connected device they want to play the music on.

However, there are some features that are still missing from this app. For example, users cannot download songs that they can play offline. This is a feature that Spotify has promised to add in future versions of the app. Another problem is that Apple Watches that come with built-in 4G LTE, will not be able to stream to wireless headphones. This could be a big problem for users who love to listen to music while running/walking.

Spotify has said it will begin rolling out its new Apple Watch app next week. The update to the app’s release on the App Store says this is the “first version” of the app. Spotify confirmed this on its blog, saying that future versions of the app will include more features, including the ability to play music and podcasts while offline.

“This new experience will be rolling out to Apple Watch users next week. Make sure you have the latest version (v.8.4.79) of Spotify or you can download it in the App Store and look for more updates soon.”

Spotify is the most popular music streaming app in the world, with over 190 million active users. Its main competitor, Apple Music, has 50 million users.
