The great success of the national team that represented our country in the pan-European cybersecurity competition European Cyber Security Challenge 2018 (ECSC'18) was presented by the Alpha television station through the show "Weekend with Manesis", on Saturday, November 3.
The 10-member Greek team managed to stand out in the top five and deservedly claim a place among teams that were considered favorites and with great experience in this field. The success rewarded the hard work and dedication of its members, justified the coaches' faith in the team and filled all of us who support them with feelings of joy!
The show was attended by Mr. Christos Xenakis, professor at the University of Piraeus and responsible for the Greek participation in the competition, Mr. Konstantinos Vavousis, Team Manager, Thomas Toumboulis and Haris Pylarinos, coaches of the team, Ms. Stella Tsitsoula, communications manager, as well as Nikos Mavrousias, Fanis Dimakis and Nikos Kamarinakis, members of the national team.
The representatives of the Greek participation shared their experience at the European Cyber Security Challenge 2018 (ECSC'18) which took place from October 15-18 in London with the contributors of the television show, while also giving all of us an insight into the challenges they had to successfully complete, the atmosphere of the competition and of course the strong friendships that were created between the members thanks to the cooperation and teamwork they had.
For information, the ECSC competition is an initiative of the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA), and aims to discover new talents in the field of cybersecurity, as well as to encourage young people to pursue a career in this scientific area.
The organizers of the Greek participation invite all of you who are involved in information systems security and ethical hacking, professionals and non-professionals, to not hesitate and register for the next pan-European cybersecurity competition to be held in Romania in 2019. The qualifiers are held within the framework of the EthiHak competition that has been held since 2016.
