In a rather unexpected move, Antec announced its first memory modules at Computex. Antec's DDR4 DIMMs are intended to generate revenue for the company, but we'll have to wait and see if there's any interest.

Antec is an American company with over 30 years of experience in the computer industry, mainly in the production of power supplies and computer cases. Its new opening is going to be taken quite seriously since it will launch 5 different memory series. The first series will be aimed at ready-made integrated systems, the 3 series for entry-level systems, the 5-TUF Gaming series for mainstream systems, and the 7 series for computer enthusiasts. The memory kits from the last two series will feature modern RGB lighting, while the 1 and 3 series DIMMs will maintain a simpler look.
Antec's DDR4 memory modules will be based on DRAM from various manufacturers, depending on the performance and overclocking requirements for specific product lines.
As for performance, don't expect Antec's first RAMs to offer anything different from what other companies are releasing. At least initially: the 5 series will hit 3000 MT/s, while the 7 series will go a little higher. Antec is yet to finalize all the details regarding its high-end memory offerings, but during its Computex talks, the company made it clear that it doesn't currently intend to compete with DDR4 from established manufacturers like Corsair and G.Skill.

Its new products will appear on the market this summer, but the exact time frames for each series are still unknown.
