Privacy groups against Facebook

FacebookAfter nearly 18 years of existence, several privacy groups are working hard to bring about major changes aimed at reducing the "terrifying power" that both Facebook and its founder Mark Zuckerberg.

Sending a report to the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), these groups essentially want to reverse most of what Mark Zuckerberg did to build his empire. This includes acquiring or “bankrupting potential competitors”.

The groups want the FTC to force the social networking giant to split into four separate entities, which will include Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger. There must be a fair level of competition with other social networks. Also, the platform must impose strict personal data protection rules that will strengthen and protect users.

As part of the campaign, ads will be displayed on platforms owned by Zuckerberg such as Facebook and Instagram, as well as on other networks. These ads will have messages such as “Facebook keeps violating your privacy. Break it up”.

Perhaps the goals set by the groups are exaggerated and it's not something that will happen in one night.

The company, on the other hand, emphasizes that it is not the only social network on the planet. The average person uses “eight different apps to communicate,” a Facebook spokesperson told Axios.

After the Cambridge Analytica scandal, the company began making changes to its policies and introducing new features.

All of this has come after a slew of bad news that made the social network more famous than ever! Why is only Facebook in the crosshairs? Because practically, it is the only social network that exists. Twitter is a different world.

If we want to be honest, however, Facebook has become an integral part of people's daily lives. Even these groups know it. Therefore, the best solution is to change this situation for the better.
