iOS 11 is slowly becoming the most vulnerable operating system update Apple has released, with more and more problems being identified by users who have upgraded to it.
The most recent problem discovered by a user in iOS 11 concerns the transition of the alarm clock to silent mode, and in fact, many people reported that their alarm never went off.
This means that even though the alarm clock UI activates at a specific time, the sound is never heard and the screen remains in mute mode.
The number of reports posted online seems to indicate that this is a common bug that has affected iOS devices without the cause having been identified yet.
Of course, this particular bug did not affect all users, but its existence has already been confirmed on the iPhone 7 and iPhone X.
It should be noted that the alarm clock error is not something new for a smartphone, since similar problems have been reported on various Android models and previous-generation iPhones. We are also talking about a bug that comes from various software updates from time to time, but this time its existence becomes even more annoying since it is added to a series of issues that iOS 11 users have to deal with.
Apple hasn't acknowledged the bug yet, but it's likely to release a bugfix in the next update very soon. If it doesn't, you might have to buy an alarm clock... no big deal, right ?
