Spotify offers free studios and other benefits to artists through Fresh Finds Forward

Spotify, the leading music streaming platform, has announced a new initiative aimed at supporting emerging artists by offering them a range of valuable resources. The program, called Spotify Fresh Finds Forward, is designed to help artists capitalize on the exposure they gain through being added to Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlists.

These playlists are known for promoting new and undiscovered talent, giving artists the opportunity to reach a wider audience. Starting January 1, 2026, artists added to any Fresh Finds playlist will be eligible to join the program and receive 12 months of additional support. This support includes free studio time for artists based in the United States, with access to some of the country’s most iconic studios, including Electric Lady Studios in New York City, The Lighthouse on Ocean Way Nashville, and Spotify Studios in Los Angeles.

This provision is particularly important for artists who wish to improve the quality of their music production without the financial burden usually associated with renting professional studios.

In addition to studio time, the program offers artists early access to Spotify tools and features, enabling them to leverage new technologies and innovations that can enhance their artistic creation and the promotion of their music. In addition, artists will have priority in touring and music video partnerships, giving them the opportunity to expand their presence in the music industry and connect with their audiences in new ways.

Another important element of the program is the provision of 12 months of access to Landr Studio Pro and Splice's Creator Plan, two tools that are essential for modern music production. Landr Studio Pro offers mastering and distribution services, while Splice's Creator Plan provides access to a huge library of sounds and production tools. These services allow artists to create professional-quality music without the need for expensive equipment or software.

Recognizing the psychological challenges artists face in the music industry, Spotify is also offering six months of free therapy through BetterHelp. This move demonstrates the platform’s sensitivity to the needs of artists, offering support in an industry that can be extremely demanding and stressful. Mental health is a critical issue for many artists, and providing free therapy is an important step towards holistic support for creators.

It’s important to note that Fresh Finds Forward differs from Spotify’s previous Discovery Mode, which offered a “promotional royalty rate” for higher algorithmic promotion. In contrast, the new program does not change royalty rates and is provided completely free of charge to participating artists. This means that artists can take advantage of the resources and opportunities the program offers without worrying about financial burdens or changes to their royalties.

Spotify Fresh Finds Forward is an initiative that demonstrates Spotify’s commitment to supporting emerging artists by giving them the tools and resources they need to grow their careers. By providing free studio time at some of the most iconic studios in the US, as well as access to professional tools and services, Spotify gives artists the opportunity to improve the quality of their music and increase their exposure.

Additionally, free therapy through BetterHelp demonstrates the platform's sensitivity to the psychological challenges artists face, offering support in an industry that can be extremely demanding and stressful.
