The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fire saga ended some time ago, but that doesn't mean the South Korean company can be sure that a similar incident won't happen again.

Several of her models had been through similar incidents in recent months, and the most recent experience was in the middle of a Jet Airways flight.
A Samsung Galaxy J7 started emitting smoke about 15 minutes into the flight, and owner Arpita Dhal quickly alerted the crew. The phone, which was in a bag under the seat, was found next to two other phones whose brands and models were not disclosed.
But the scariest part of the story for the 120 people on board is that the fire extinguishers didn't work, so the crew had to take the phone and throw it into the water to stop the fire. The other two phones were also placed in a tray of water as a precaution, according to local media.
“There was panic in the air. We prayed to God,” said Atul, Arpita’s husband. “I will file a complaint against Jet Airways after returning home. This is a matter of passenger safety on flights. If there is a major fire or explosion, what will they do when their fire extinguishers are not working?”.
The airline claims that the incident was properly resolved by the crew, but doesn't say a word about the fire extinguishers not working at the time of the fire.
"It was observed on Jet Airways flight 9W 791 Delhi-Indore that smoke was coming out of a hand luggage. Jet Airways crew immediately took cognizance of the situation and took all necessary steps as per the prescribed instructions," a spokesperson said.
As usual, Samsung explains that customer safety is a top priority for the company and promises to investigate and determine the cause of the fire. Of course, this is an isolated incident and there is no sign of a widespread problem affecting other Galaxy J7 units.
