But how did the iPhone empire begin in 2007? Jony Ive, Apple's chief designer, said that the motivation for creating the device was the state of the mobile phone market at the time.

Ive explained in a recent interview that most people at Apple were disappointed with the devices that were being released at the time, so the best way to deal with the situation was to create a revolutionary device for the time.

"When we created the first iPhone, our main motivation was the state of mobile telephony at the time," he said.

When asked what the main problem with smartphones in 2007 was, Ive highlighted many issues, but a lack of ambition was the main one.

This doesn't necessarily mean that Apple did everything right, but at least it was a company that had ambitions and wanted to try something new in the market by taking a risk.

"We made a lot of mistakes. But our mistakes weren't the result of laziness or overconfidence that we would succeed. I think we are a group of people who worry, stress and constantly believe that what they created is not going to work," he continued.

For information, Jony Ive is a man who designed many excellent Apple products including the iPhone, iPad and iPod in collaboration with Steve Jobs, transforming a company into the leading brand it is today.
