iOS 11 increases the OTA limit on the App Store to 150MB!

Shortly after the release of the major iOS 11 update to supported iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, Apple informed developers that it had increased the limit for the OTA (Over-the-Air) App Store to 150 MB.iOS 11

iOS 10 allowed users to download apps from the App Store that were less than 100MB in size when connected from a mobile device with 3G or 4G. The upside to this is that it saved you a lot of money on your mobile phone bill each month.

However, because everything is in constant evolution and more and more mobile providers offer unlimited internet data, the user is able to download applications from the App Store that are larger than 100 MB in size.

Apple now sets the limit at 150 MB.

"We have increased the mobile download limit from 100 MB to 150 MB, allowing our customers to download more applications on their mobile," a company spokesperson said.

That said, you should update your devices to iOS 11 if you want to download apps with larger storage requirements on your phone. Don't wait until 11.0.1 is released to make that decision, as you never know what Apple has in store for you until then.

You can update via OTA updates by opening the Settings app > General settings > Software Updates. All you have to do is download the iOS 11.0 software update and install it. Of course, you can also update manually via iTunes on Mac or Windows or download the iOS 11 IPSW images.
