Because color is one of the simplest and fastest ways to communicate, the whole family can instantly check Glow’s metrics. The colors show real-time metrics, ranging from a soft green when energy consumption is under control, to a bright yellow and red when large amounts of energy are being used.
You can also program Glow to help you keep your electricity bills low by setting a budget in the app so it can alert you when usage is approaching your limit.
While we're not so sure about the ethicality of using an electrical device to monitor your electricity usage, the idea behind Glow is certainly innovative. It's both an energy tracker and a decorative element.
