Apple's copy paste from Android to iOS 11

Apple announced iOS 11 last week and many people rushed to install it even though it is still in the developer preview stage.

Just like with any new iOS release, there are differing opinions from Apple fans who are overly excited about what the company has added to iOS 11 and the Android community, who are watching and laughing because most of the new iOS features have been on Android for years.apple

A video posted on YouTube shows 6 of the features that Apple allegedly copied from Samsung and Android in general. The comparison shown in the video is between a Samsung Galaxy S8 and an iPhone, and as you will see, it is clear that there are indeed some similarities.

The first of the features that is said to have existed before on Android is the one-handed keyboard update that is part of iOS 11. As user XEETECHCARE points out, iPhone users and Samsung device users have devices with almost the same look and features, only Apple was the second to make them available.

The second iOS 11 feature that closely resembles Android's is the advanced screenshot tool, which not only features an identical thumbnail of the screenshot at the bottom of the screen, but also provides editing tools similar to those found on Samsung devices.

Then there's the new Control Center, which can be further customized in iOS 11 with shortcuts to the features users want. At Samsung, these shortcuts are called quick actions and have been around for a very long time, while iOS users are just now discovering them.

Notifications also have Android-inspired options in iOS 11, with users now being able to hide previews on the lock screen. Of course, these settings have been around for a long time on Android and Samsung phones. Apple users got them in 2017.

Additionally, iOS 11 gets a new feature called “Offload Apps,” which frees up storage space used by a particular app but keeps its documents and data. Of course, this is similar to the cache option available on Android, although users also get bonus options to free up space, manage the app, and delete all data from the same menu.

Finally, there is a screen recording tool that is similar to Samsung's. It allows you to record what is happening on your screen and then save the video. The Samsung Galaxy S8 already has such a feature that offers quick recording and screenshots.

It's pretty clear that these iOS features have been inspired by Android, and this time Apple can't boast that it's the first to announce them, although it presented them as very important innovations...
