Google: Localization is a vital, but less talked about, area of technology that can lead to a very lucrative career. Recognizing the importance of the field and to help new people enter the technology, Google has just launched a free course on the online learning platform Udacity called Essentials Localization.
The six-course series is presented by two Google localization professionals and includes interviews, guides, and quizzes. It represents a very good and “soft” introduction to the field of localization.
It introduces you to the challenges that localization engineers face every day, as well as the tools they use. The course also gives you an idea of what you can expect from a career in this field.
You can find the lessons at the link at the end of the post and read more about them on the Google Developers Blog.
If you're good with languages and want a job in this technology industry, but don't necessarily want to be a coder, it's worth taking a look.
