Apple's MagSafe adapter is one of the biggest and most notable innovations released by the company, first introduced on January 10, 2006. Although it was discontinued by Apple after the launch of the Apple MacBook Pro in 2016, a recent patent filed by the company under the number "20170093104", for a "magnetic adapter", has been suggested to be a reference to the return of this wonderful connector. The patent refers to an Apple USB Type‑C MagSafe Connector. With this technology, one could remove the adapter easily, without needing to apply pressure and risk your laptop being pulled and falling from its surface. It also helps if you try to plug or unplug the connector with one hand, as this can be done easily. It also contributes to protecting your portable computer in case someone accidentally steps on your cable. The adapter will come out of its position easily in such a case and will not pull your laptop along. This also reduces the likelihood of damage to the charging port. The new Apple MagSafe power supply could possibly be an additional component that can be purchased separately; it will most likely have a charging port on one side and USB‑C on the other.
