Pixel and Pixel XL users have reported an issue with their smartphones on the Google Product Forums. Apparently, Bluetooth on the latest Google smartphones is turning off for no apparent reason. It can be turned back on, but it seems to turn itself off again, according to a report.
The issue has affected hundreds of Pixel and Pixel XL users - some of whom reported the issue this morning. One user says that Bluetooth turns off on its own after every reboot ,forcing the user to go back into settings and turn it back on so they can connect to the car.
Users say that the issue has only recently appeared, as in the past Bluetooth remained on until the user manually turned it off. Furthermore, the issue does not appear to be with car connectivity but rather with the recent February security update that was recently rolled out to Pixel phones.
Some users have even reported experiencing the issue on a daily basis. A Google employee said they are aware of the bug and are working on a fix. However, there don't appear to be any solutions at this point.
A separate issue was reported when the issue was reported with phone calls made over Bluetooth. This issue is caused by Google to the dialer app this month. The update doesn't seem to allow calls to be made over Bluetooth and restricts users to the phone's speaker or earpiece. The issue doesn't appear to be exclusive to Pixels, as Google's dialer app is also available for Nexus smartphones.
The Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones have been experiencing some annoying bugs over the past few months, including a file issue that distorted the sound when playing certain sounds at the highest volume levels. The issue has been fixed, and we hope Google finds a solution to the latest Bluetooth bugs soon.
