It seems that Samsung has finally decided to share its findings regarding what went wrong with the Galaxy Note7.
After months of promising to make public the results of its research into the phone, the Korean electronics giant revealed on Thursday that it will soon share the source of the Galaxy Note 7 issues with the general public, at a press conference scheduled for Jan. 22, 2017, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
At the press conference, which will be livestreamed in English on Samsung's website, company executives, along with independent researchers, will share the results of their months-long investigation, according to the company.
"Samsung will discuss the findings of the investigations and present the new measures it has put in place to address such incidents," the company said.
The company previously confirmed a report on research , which was reportedly completed in December. In a press conference during CES, Samsung America COO Tim Baxter promised that the company was committed to sharing the results of its research with its customers.
The press conference will finally help put an end to the protracted public relations nightmare created by the Note 7, one of the company's most widely praised phones, which was forced to be completely recalled after multiple reports of it exploding or catching fire. Many experts now believe that faulty batteries are to blame.
Samsung is likely hoping that by sharing its research findings with the public, the company will be able to put the unfortunate events of the Note 7 behind it and focus its attention on its next flagship model, the Galaxy S8, which is set to launch later this year.
