Although the first Nokia-branded smartphone announced by HDM Global is a mid-range device, fans of the Finnish company shouldn't be disappointed. According to Total Tech, the smartphone, which is internally codenamed Nokia Supreme, will soon be released as the Nokia 8.
It's worth mentioning that the Nokia 8, or Nokia Supreme, was at Qualcomm's booth at CES 2017, but few people noticed it.
Its features will impress you. The Nokia 8 is a flagship from HDM GLobal, and it will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. That is why it was presented at the chipset manufacturer's booth last week.
In addition to the powerful Snapdragon 835 processor, the Nokia 8 will feature a large 5.7-inch display that will support Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels). Its screen will be curved at the edges Super AMOLED.
HMD will also release a slightly cheaper version of the Nokia 8, which will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor instead of the Snapdragon 835 chipset.
The device will have a 24-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) and Super EIS. On the front, there will be a secondary 12-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
There will be two variants of the Nokia 8: one with 64 and one with 128GB. Both will feature a microSD card for storage expansion (up to 256GB).
Other highlights of the phone include an LED notification light, dual speakers, and a fingerprint sensor. Since the Nokia 6 comes with Android 7.0 Nougat, it is likely that the Nokia 8 will run on the same version of the operating system.
