Alcatel has officially announced the IDOL 4S, the new smartphone that will support Windows 10 and promises to be the company's flagship with an affordable price.
Although Alcatel is making its debut with the IDOL 4S, we would say that it is not particularly surprising as we have already had several leaks about this device. The most important thing we would say that the IDOL 4S brings is the ability for Microsoft to describe the features of the device as high-quality and innovative, mainly thanks to its VR capabilities.
Specifically, the Alcatel IDOL 4S comes with a 5.5-inch full HD 1920×1080 pixels AMOLED display, which is supposed to provide perfectly balanced contrast and vibrant colors “even in direct sunlight” as Microsoft itself says. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor (2×2.15GHz + 2×1.6GHz) with Adreno 530 GPU (graphics processing units) and has 4GB of RAM.
In terms of storage, the phone comes with 64GB, but you can expand the capacity by 128GB thanks to a microSD card. There is a 21-megapixel main camera with a Sony IMX230 sensor, as well as an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The device uses a 3,000 mAh battery, which recharges via the USB Type-C port.
The Alcatel IDOL 4S is the first full-featured Windows 10 mobile device, which is why it comes with a virtual reality package at no extra charge. The mobile device can be placed (clipped) onto virtual reality glasses where you can play 3D games or watch 360-degree videos.

The new Alcatel will be available in the US on November 10th for $469.99. Pricing and availability in other markets has not yet been announced.
