Microsoft: Removing apps from the Windows Store?

According to reports, Microsoft is removing apps from the Windows Store that do not verify the appropriateness of their content, with the aim of creating a safer and better user experience on the internet.

Microsoft's official announcement regarding this action was made in August and since then, to everyone's surprise, the company has banned the operation of several applications. "They do not comply with Windows Store policy," the company had stated.

Specifically, Microsoft has adopted a simplified IARC rating system for Windows Store apps and games. All content is reviewed on a daily basis to ensure the highest quality user experience and the most appropriate content for all ages.

More information about the IARC rating system and safety policy can be obtained from the company's Developer Blog.

It is claimed that 90,000 to 150,000 apps in the Windows Store have been deemed inappropriate. Microsoft does not confirm the numbers and insists on its original statement that the strictness towards apps and games exists to create a more user-friendly and safe environment for the Windows Store.

The company is investing heavily in Windows 10 , which it wants to offer an ideal way for the public to navigate the internet. Therefore, it requires high quality apps and games in the Windows Store.

The good news is that so far, the less sophisticated apps have been removed as the administrators of the most popular ones made sure early on that they met the specifications according to IARC. Microsoft is also giving the removed apps a second chance to come back by registering them in the Dev Center and making sure that this time they meet the requirements.microsofttt
