Cumulative updates for Windows 10 are a rather controversial practice by the company. They certainly serve many users who run the latest version of Microsoft's operating system, but at the same time, they are also a nightmare for others who cannot install them.
There is also a problem for those who do not wish to install the entire package, or to uninstall a specific update.
Let's talk, however, about KB3197954 which was released for Windows 10 users last week. The update appears to be unable to install on many systems and the reason has not yet been determined by Microsoft. 
Posts on Microsoft's forums indicate various issues with this cumulative update (KB3197954). Users report system freezes, but in most cases, the typical "sentence" appears: "failing to install."
“Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800F0922: Update for Windows (KB3197954).”
“Installation starts fine, but upon reboot it shows that the installation failed. The Windows update history reports only “Installation failure.” writes a user on the forum.
At the moment there is no answer from Microsoft. However, after a week the Tuesday Patch will be released, so the company is expected to release new cumulative updates that may fix the problem.
