The 5 biggest smartphone myths that aren't true

Almost everyone has a smartphone these days. Some have Android smartphones, while others prefer Apple's iPhones.

However, as with any technological gadget, people believe in some myths about smartphones. These myths are like superstitions that prevent you from having a proper perspective. Therefore, in our article, we will share with you five myths about smartphones that you should stop believing immediately!

Myth No. 1: smartphones with quad-core and octa-core processors are faster

This is a myth that even the most sensible smartphone owner believes. But unfortunately this is not true. Apple's iPhone 6s with a dual-core processor is much faster than any Android smartphone with an octa-core processor on the market. If your smartphone has a multi-core processor, it does not mean that it will be faster as a phone. The quality of the cores is what matters, we all know that quality is always better than quantity. The speed of the processor is only a small part of the speed of the smartphone and depends on many other factors.

Myth No. 2: Removing Apps with Task Killer will speed up your smartphone

This is another myth that every smartphone owner believes. It is a fact that we have all uninstalled Apps that we do not use in the hope of freeing up more memory. In reality, apps are temporarily stored in RAM, which only helps to open the apps faster. Android smartphones actually allow apps to run in the background with fewer restrictions. Background apps are usually “frozen” and use tiny amounts of memory.

Myth No. 3: The more RAM the better

iPhones run just fine with just 1GB or 2GB of RAM, while Google’s Nexus 6P with 3GB of RAM is considered the fastest Android smartphone available today. But believe it or not, if you’re an Android fan, you’ll always be looking for more RAM when you buy your next Android smartphone. The fact remains that your smartphone will run out of memory, even if it has 6GB of RAM, if you haven’t optimized your phone properly. Try opening and playing 10 videos in Google Chrome in different tabs on your 6GB Android smartphone and you’ll see what I mean.

Myth No. 4: Only use your smartphone manufacturer's charger

This myth was probably spread by manufacturers to get you to buy their products. The truth is that you can use any charger that matches the specifications of your smartphone's battery. Yes, using the charger that was made for your phone is always better, but you can also use other compatible chargers that don't make much of a difference. If you carefully observe the different times on different chargers, you will find that there is not much difference between the charger made by the company and another one that is also compatible.

Myth No. 5: More Megapixels Mean a Better Camera!

It is a completely false myth that smartphone manufacturers have spread to get you to buy their products. The quality of a photo depends mainly on how much light the sensor is able to take in. The best cameras actually have larger image sensors. Sometimes even a 5MP camera with better sensors, gives better photos than the usual 13megapixel cameras.

So these are just some of the most popular smartphone myths that aren't actually true! There are many more that smartphone owners would swear are true, but are unfortunately false.
