Mark Gore, a British computer expert living in South Ham, is the man who developed a cheat bot for Pokemon GO that helps users play without having to leave their homes.
In an interview with a local newspaper in Basingstoke, he said he created the bot after discovering vulnerabilities in Niantic's Pokemon GO servers.
He then used these flaws to create a website where users can play the game without leaving their homes. He has currently developed a few Pokemon Go cheat tools which are mostly advertised via Reddit threads.
Meanwhile, Niantic, the company that released Pokemon GO for Nintendo, announced last weekend that it would begin permanently banning players who cheat on its servers.
Mark Gore, although he has received legal pressure to take down his website, has no such plans.
"If you look at the age group of people playing this game, it's not all teenagers playing. There are a lot of people who work all day and don't have the time to spend hours every day going out and catching Pokemon," Mark Gore told the newspaper.
“They can run for two hours a day at home and still have the same levels.”
The 25-year-old developer said he has received thousands of pounds in donations and that around 24,000 users access his website on a regular basis.
It remains to be seen when Niantic will manage to take down its website.
