Microsoft is deleting apps that are not age-rated

Microsoft, in its effort to improve the Windows Store's offerings, added "age rating" to applications, so you know whether an application is appropriate for your age or not.

The company is now going a step further, informing developers that their apps must have an age rating within the next few months or they will be removed from the Store.

Microsoft wants to comply with the International Age Rating Coalition and has begun sending emails to developers whose apps are not age-rated to inform them of its intentions .

The deadline given to developers by the company is September 30, 2016. As Microsoft's email explains, developers must log in to the Dev Center and answer a few questions that help determine the age rating for each app. Depending on their answer to questions such as whether the app contains violence or inappropriate language, the app receives a rating that complies with requirements imposed by various organizations, such as the Pan European Game Information (PEGI) in Europe and the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) in North America.
