Anonymous has released a video threatening to “destroy” Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. The video announces a series of cyberattacks against the presidential candidate’s personal and business websites on April 1, 2016.
Despite his growing number of followers, Donald Trump continues to make headlines around the world through a series of controversial, or downright racist, comments.
Thus, Anonymous appears to be preparing its forces for an all-out attack on Trump's online presence on April Fool's Day.
Prior to this recent campaign announcement, Anonymous had carried out a small attack against Trump in December, when they DDoSed one of Trump Towers' websites, primarily for his anti-Muslim views surrounding the recent Syrian crisis and refugees.
After that, the hacktivist group New World Hacking carried out a series of DDoS attacks against his campaign website. All of the attacks were short-lived, and with no real cost to Donald Trump.
A more serious attack occurred earlier this month, when a group of 4chan users decided to play prank calls on one of Donald Trump's phones. They managed to gain access to his voicemail and posted all of his saved messages online.
This time Anonymous released a list of websites they want to DDoS. The list (so far) includes six of Donald Trump's websites, and two websites created in support of his campaign.
