After providing voice typing support last September, Google Docs continues its innovations. Today, the company announced that it will also support voice commands for Docs opened in Chrome.
These new commands will be able to define any kind of formatting you want to use in Google Docs. For example, you will be able to highlight and replace a word, create lists, or change the formatting of the title. However, there are also commands for more complex tasks, such as creating tables.
You can see a complete list of voice commands here.
By adding voice commands to Docs, Google has essentially become a full-fledged software assistant that is free for everyone.
Thus, people with accessibility issues or simply those who want to try the feeling of dictation can use their voice instead of typing on keys.
Currently, the feature is available only for Chrome users on computers. It would be great to see it in the future on mobile devices.
The new feature is available from today, worldwide.
