Are you happy that The Pirate Bay has adopted Torrents Time to add streaming services? It’s been less than a week since we first reported on Torrents Time’s appearance on the scene, and the anti-piracy group BREIN, based in the Netherlands, has deemed the new streaming tool an “illegal application.”
In a letter, she demands from administrators to “immediately cease distribution through Torrents Time.”
Torrents Time is an application that with a built-in torrent client allows users to download and play torrent files with a click from their browser. After installing a plugin, everything is done from your browser.
Several torrent sites, including The Pirate Bay, adopted the solution by offering streaming to their visitors.
Until the letter from BREIN arrived:
Through your website Torrents Time (https://torrents-time.com/) you are distributing the illegal application 'Torrents Time' that structurally and systematically facilitates, enables and participates in the making available of infringing content without the authorization of the respective copyright and neighboring rights holders. 'Torrents Time' is enabling the illegal distribution of popular titles of films and of TV-Series that are published by the rights holders represented by BREIN and which have not been licensed for distribution through your system.
The project administrators responded to the anti-piracy group from the Netherlands, stating that their application is not illegal and that their letter lacks documentation for everything they claim.
