qBittorrent provides free software just like µTorrent , except that this particular application runs and offers the same features on all major platforms (Linux, Mac OS X, Windows, OS/2, FreeBSD).
qBittorrent is based on the Qt4 toolkit and libtorrent-rasterbar.

The program was upgraded from Qt4 to Qt5.
Qt is a cross-platform application development framework. Along with this new feature, the new application comes with new updated code in the core that will resolve issues with labels, temporary folders, and other core features that some users reported as problematic when using previous versions of the client.
Note: When you upgrade to version 3.3.0 of qBittorrent you will not be able to roll back to a previous version. The program will display a warning about this. For upgrading to Ubuntu
add the PPA for the stable version and upgrade from terminal
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:qbittorrent-team/qbittorrent-stable
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install qbittorrent
