In December, Microsoft announced that it was going to end support for Internet Explorer versions 8, 9, and 10, but if it really wanted to drive its users to upgrade to newer software, it missed the opportunity.
So today we can officially consider versions 8, 9 and 10 of Internet Explorer a historical event. It was a whirlwind and it passed….
According to the company, the applications have reached their "end of life".
The “end of life” decision means that users of older versions of Internet Explorer (except IE 11) will no longer receive security updates. They can continue to use the software, as there is no on-off switch, but it is not recommended.
Microsoft is urging users to upgrade to Internet Explorer 11, but also to Edge, the company's newest and most promising browser.
But Edge still doesn't support third-party extensions, a feature that many people need.
Long Live Firefox!
