A 50-year-old Greek national was arrested after systematically threatening a 38-year-old Greek national for 12 years (from 2003 until his arrest), under the pretext of publishing nude photos of her on the internet, resulting in her being forced into a series of sexual activities

From the digital search carried out on the 50-year-old's electronic storage media (computers, servers, etc.), hundreds of files (photographs, videos) of erotic content were found and seized

These files also depict other women, whose details are being sought to be verified, while they were allegedly taken from them, in a similar manner, with the aim of fraudulently and financially exploiting them

The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate investigated a case involving a violation of the legislation on personal data, illegal violence and pimping, acts also committed via the Internet, against a 38-year-old Greek national.

For this case, a 50-year-old Greek national was arrested, through a spontaneous procedure, and a relevant case file was filed against him.

The investigation into the case began after a complaint by the 38-year-old Greek woman to the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, according to which in 2003, responding to an advertisement for professional product photography, in exchange for a monetary reward, she came into contact with the 50-year-old arrested person.

According to the complaint, after the initial photoshoot, the 50-year-old convinced the 38-year-old to take a nude photoshoot and then threatened her, until today (for 12 consecutive years), that he would share these photos on the Internet and with people in her family, forcing her to take further nude photos.

Since mid-2004, the 50-year-old, using the same threats, forced the 38-year-old to have sexual intercourse with unknown persons in exchange for money, even using acts of violence against her to overcome her objections.

Since 2008, the 50-year-old had only used the 38-year-old in nude photo shoots, due to her reported suicide attempt, while since 2014 he had additionally forced her to take off her clothes in front of a computer camera, connected to the internet in a live connection, through a specific website, where each user paid an online subscription.

The above allegations were brought to the attention of the Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office and a preliminary examination was ordered to investigate them, as well as to provide the necessary information and data from the competent telecommunications and Internet service providers.

As part of the preliminary examination, a thorough and in-depth police and digital - online investigation of digital evidence and data was conducted and the 50-year-old Greek national was identified as involved in the illegal activity.

Following the above, in the context of investigating the case, in the morning hours of yesterday (15-9-2015), searches were carried out, in the presence of a Judicial Officer, at the home and workplace of the 50-year-old, where his participation in the acts under investigation was also digitally verified.

In particular, from the on-site digital search of the electronic storage media owned by the 50-year-old (computers, servers, etc.), hundreds of files (photographs, videos) of erotic content were found and seized, depicting – in addition to the 38-year-old – other naked women, whose details are being sought to be verified. These files were allegedly obtained in a similar manner, with the aim of their fraudulent and financial exploitation.

More specifically, the following were found and seized:

• a stationary PC, containing (4) internal hard drives in a RAID configuration,
• a stationary PC used as a file server, containing (3) internal hard drives,
• (120) photographs of naked women and a photo album with (31) photographs of similar content, and
• two (2) memory cards

In addition, evidence of payment transactions - payments of money in the name of the 50-year-old from the disputed website were found and seized, which demonstrate his speculation from the above illegal activity.

The digital evidence that was seized will be sent to the Criminal Investigations Directorate for the appropriate laboratory tests, while at the same time the 50-year-old's participation - involvement in any other similar and related criminal acts is being investigated.

The arrested person will be brought, with the case file filed against him, to the Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office.
