On June 18, Collabora announced the availability of two versions of its open source office suite LibreOffice for Apple's Mac OS X operating systems via the Mac App Store.
One of the versions, called LibreOffice Vanilla, is available for download for free, while the other, called LibreOffice-from-Collabora, is available for purchase for €9.99. The latter version comes with 3 years of support, optional professional support, and automatic updates.
It seems that Collabora, an open source software consulting company from the United Kingdom, has in recent months made all the necessary preparations for the LibreOffice suite to meet Apple's requirements for the availability of applications in the Mac App Store.
Both versions of LibreOffice from Collabora have been available for download since June 18, 2015, while it is worth noting that the open-source application was already available for the Mac OS X operating system as a standalone installation from the official LibreOffice website.
