Apple announces WWDC 2015

Apple announced Tuesday that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference will take place June 8-12 at Moscone West in San Francisco. WWDC 2015 will feature more than 1,000 Apple engineers, more than 100 technical sessions and hands-on workshops, and the company's design awards. Apple WWDC 2015

Apple also says they will share their plans for the future of iOS and OS X and will likely share details about the upcoming iOS 9 and OS X 10.11.

Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said: "We have incredible new technologies for iOS and OS X to share with developers around the world at WWDC, and we can't wait to see the next generation of apps they create."

Apple is offering developers the opportunity to apply for WWDC 2015 tickets from today until April 17. Developers who are eligible to attend must already be enrolled in the iOS Developer Program or Mac Developer Program to be eligible for tickets to the event.

WWDC 2015 tickets will cost $1,599 and Apple will notify developers (who will be selected through a lottery) by April 20. Of course, the WWDC 2015 scholarships are also valid this year, available to students and members of organizations - companies involved in STEM from around the world.

Apple clarifies that developers between the ages of 13 and 17 must have written consent from their parent or guardian.

So, waiting for Apple's big announcements. We would really like them to announce an open source operating system, but we're probably expecting too much. However, it's not bad to dream..
