Yahoo is preparing to launch a YouTube -competing platform , according to information from the American technology site re/code. It seems that Marissa Mayer (CEO of the American company) has no shortage of smart ideas (ss).
The American company wants to attract the most popular video creators and the largest networks that use Google's platform to its service, to whom it promises greater revenue.
The company wants to capitalize on the fact that owners of several popular YouTube channels are complaining about the fee model on Google's service, which has limited revenue for them. In return, the company is promising them a larger share of the listings displayed, as well as the ability to advertise their content across its other services.
According to re/code, exploratory contacts with producers have already begun and are well underway. The American giant hopes that in a few months the new video-sharing service will be ready to go online.
Initially, Yahoo's service will be "open" only to selected producers who create professional-quality and popular content. However, Yahoo does not rule out the possibility of "opening" the service to ordinary users after its first year of operation so that, in line with YouTube standards, they can also "upload" any type of video.
For some time now, the company has been looking for ways to strengthen its web presence, and believes that a video sharing platform is one of the most effective solutions.
